wish list: fog-releasing steel tree

28 Mar

london’s grange garden shall forever mourn after missing out on matthew geller’s five-meter-tall, steam-breathing steel tree sculpture. the ethereally beautiful structure proposed by the new york-based artist- named woozy blossom (platanus nebulous) – remains number one in my wish list for a woodland-inspired dreamscape. an arresting study in movement and contemplation, kazuya tsuji’s rippling concrete blocks have meanwhile taken the prize home.

while the london-based artist’s proposal is perhaps more asbo-friendly, and thus more fitting in these days of the culture lout, i wonder what the chaps at health and safety will make of it. you can check out all the other entries at galerie8
